It’s getting better…All the time, every day in every way. Moving forward staying positive and fighting the demons that once caged you. Free from the constraints of possession, and overindulgence!
In an ongoing effort to lead a SIMPLER life, the shedding has begun. The shedding of possessions. The shedding of dependence. The shedding of uncertainty! The shedding of negativity and inconsistency. As I walk through and see all of the things I have accumulated over a lifetime, I am overwhelmed. The trinkets and the doo dads, and the Knick knacks and the novelties all the things that make up a life.
Retirement is one fantasy I have never entertained. While the idea is pretty spectacular in and of itself, the truth is far from the fantasy. Ham radio is often used for emergency communications, as it provides a means of communication when other forms of communication, such as cell phones and the internet, are unavailable.
I was scrolling around on LinkedIn today, and I came upon an article, which led to a podcast and down the rabbit hole I went. This particular article and Podcast were about starting over and reinventing yourself. It focused on doing this later in life, which I found to be quite informative and helpful since I now am at this juncture of life.
Today marks the Lunar New Year, this is the year of the rabbit, considered the luckiest of the 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac because it represents peace, prosperity and longevity. Across Asia Lunar New Year, also commonly known as Chinese New Year, is the most widely celebrated and most important holiday.
The new year has strengthened my resolve to move forward with an attempt at some homesteading. We are in the planning stage and are on the hunt for a place to start. (See the insert below) I know the general area where we want to be, and I have someone who is all aboard with this idea.
Venture forth and Adventure on!
