Here comes the Fall, and the Propagation, and the Pumpkin Spice

The Gnome Knows

Welcome to Pumpkin spice season! BTW EEEW YUCK!!

I cannot even stomach the smell of this God awful concoction of fall, but then to each their own. Onward into the cool evenings and the early Sunsets. Hot cider and Haunted hayrides. With the changing of the seasons, apparently there is a change in the propagation used for talking/Listening long distance on CB/Ham/Shortwave Radio as well.

The airwaves are hot and there is much to choose from. Some of the CB characters are as colorful as the changing leaves, and there is never a shortage of entertainment. Over the summer months the radio chatter seemed to back down just a touch, but it’s rolling now. If you happen to be dancing about the airwaves tune in and give us a shout. 11Meter/27 MHz bouncing about on 27.135 am, 27.395 SSB and all about the freehand frequencies.

Here in Pennsylvania we are fast approaching peak fall brilliance in our trees. Over the next few weeks the leaves will change and we will be immersed in the canopy of color. We will delight in the brilliant reds, oranges and yellows of the autumnal rainbow. We will absorb the rich fragrant aroma of cinnamon and spice while we delight in a slice of fresh pumpkin pie. The long hot days of summer have passed us and this year is winding down quickly.

Soon we will be gripped by the grays of Jack Frost, and longing for the greens of spring. Get out and enjoy the world around you, the season of sweatshirts and long pants has arrived. Visit an Orchard, walk in the woods, take a stroll around the block. Wherever you are, and whatever you do take in every moment as if today was your last. Life is short and tomorrow is not certain, grab life by the shirt tails and pull down that curtain.
